Painesville, OH- The University of Findlay Women's Soccer team traveled to Painesville OH on Thursday Sept 15 for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup against the Lake Erie College Storm. Coming into the game the Oilers held a 2-2-1 overall and a 1-1 record in the conference.
Freshmen Payton Miller got things started early for the Oilers with a goal in the 9th minute of play to give Findlay an early 1-0 lead.
That would be all the Oilers needed to get the win as they beat the Storm 1-0.
Junior Kennedy Slovak started in goal for the Oilers and would record 2 saves in her 14th career shutout.
With the win the Oilers advanced to 3-2-1 on the season and 2-1 in the G-MAC. The team will be back in action on Saturday Sept 17 in North Canton, OH where they will take on the Walsh University Cavaliers.
