Oilers Advance to Final With 4-3 Win

The University of Findlay women's tennis team defeated Hillsdale College by a score of 4-3 on April 22 in Owensboro, Ky. to advance to the final of the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament. The win gives the Oilers a 15-8 record on the season.

The Oilers and Chargers were tied at 3-3 heading into the final match of the evening and senior Laiying Alvarado claimed a victory at No. 1 singles to propel the Oilers into the championship match. Alvarado went down 6-0 in the first set before battling back to win the second (7-5) and third (6-3).

Freshman Elina Ivanova and senior Laura Brito also claimed singles victories while the Oilers swept doubles competition, winning all three of their matches.
