Bearcats Top Oilers in NCAA DII Tournament

The University of Findlay women's tennis team fell 4-2 to Southwest Baptist University in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Division II National Tournament, which was played on May 6 in Bolivar, Mo. The loss ends the Oilers season as they finish the year with a 15-10 record.

The Oilers captured the doubles point in the match and won one singles match during the competition. Seniors Laiying Alvarado and Samantha Sweet teamed to win the No. 1 doubles by a score of 6-4 while seniors Luciana Pereyra and Laura Brito claimed a 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. Pereyra scored the Oilers lone singles victory, winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5.

Sweet ends her career at Findlay as the Oilers all-time leader in career singles victories with 37.
