Oilers Fly Past Eagles 3-1

The University of Findlay volleyball team won their eighth straight match with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22) win over Ashland University on Sunday, October 30 in Croy Gymnasium.  The victory gives the Oilers a 13-11 record on the season with a 7-9 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers had three players reach double digits in the kill department as sophomore Mackenzie Vorst (16), sophomore Danielle Taflinger (15) and freshman Samantha Granger (11) accomplished the feat.

Taflinger hit .520 for the match while Vorst added a team-high 12 digs.

Junior Maggie Naayers added nine kills, senior Jessica VonIns tallied 46 assists and senior Rachael Hammond registered 11 digs.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday when they host Wayne State University at 7:30 pm.
