Taflinger Earns GLIAC Commissioner's Award

Senior volleyball player Danielle Taflinger was honored as a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Commissioner's award recipient.  The award, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, are presented after the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.

Taflinger has carried an overall grade point average of 3.75 and is majoring in education at The University of Findlay.  She has also been a two-time academic all-excellence pick by the GLIAC and earned academic all-conference honors once during her career.

On the court, Taflinger has been named honorable mention All-American in each of the past two seasons and was an all-region performer in 2012 and 2013.  She has been named first team all-conference twice and led the league in hitting percent (.344) as a senior.

The Lima, Ohio native ended her career as Findlay's all-time leader in hitting percentage at .347 and also ranks fourth all-time in blocks (400) and eighth all-time in kills (1,118) at UF.
