Tong, Garverick Named 2nd Team All-Region by Daktronics

Sophomore Hannah Tong and red-shirt freshman Nickyla Garverick were each tabbed second team all-Midwest Region by Daktronics on Nov. 19 for their performances during the Oilers 2014 volleyball season.

Tong, who was a first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) pick and the GLIAC Attacker of the Year, produced 390 kills in 2014. She averaged 3.55 kills per set and also contributed 58 blocks and 50 digs.

Garverick, a first team all-league pick, recorded 266 kills and 135 blocks for the Oilers. The 2014 GLIAC Freshman and Blocker of the Year also hit .302 on the season and added 19 digs.
