On the second day of the Oredigger Classic, The University of Findlay women's volleyball team quickly turned things around as they came away with two victories on Saturday, Sep. 5 at the Colorado School of Mines.  They started off the day with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) victory over Western Oregon and followed that performance with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-19) win over Pace.  The dominant performances push Findlay to 2-2 on the season.

In the first match, the Oilers came out strong and were led by junior Hannah Tong who smashed 16 kills.  Redshirt freshman Amanda Winner helped control the net by adding nine kills and led the team with eight digs. 

Senior Julie Lyons and sophomore Nickyla Garverick added seven kills apiece for Findlay.  Freshman Hailee Olson made her presence on the court as she recorded five serving aces and finished with 41 assists.

In the second match, Tong continued to deliver for the Oilers as she recorded 21 kills.  Senior Andrea Roach added eight kills and Winner pitched in with seven kills and also led Findlay with 13 digs.  Senior Becca Shoemaker helped the cause while recording 13 digs.

Olson continued where she left off in the first match by distributing 44 assists.  Sophomore Madelyn McCabe added two serving aces and five digs for Findlay.

The Oilers return to action Thursday, Sep. 10 as they host Ursuline in Croy Gymnasium at 7PM.
