Historic Season Ends at Hands of #2 Ferris State

Big Rapids, MI – The University of Findlay volleyball team ended its 2015 season on Friday, Dec. 4 in the regional semifinal vs. #2 Ferris State University. The Bulldogs, whose set-three loss was the first lost set of their postseason, won the game 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 20-25, 25-23) and improved to 33-2. The Orange and Black concluded one of the program's best seasons with a 26-9 record and an appearance in its first NCAA regional semifinal since 2001.

Junior Hannah Tong led the Oilers with 16 kills while senior Julie Lyons, playing her last game in a Findlay uniform, picked up 13 kills of her own. Lyons hit .407 in the match, securing her spot atop the Oilers record book for hitting percentage in a season. Freshman Amanda Winner picked up seven kills and led the team with 3 aces.

Freshman Hailee Olson finished the game with 43 assists, placing her in fifth all-time at UF for assists in a season with 1,523 this season.

Also playing in her final game, senior Becca Shoemaker scrambled for 24 digs ending her career as one of the best defensive specialists to ever wear an Oilers jersey. She concludes her four years having amassed 1,461 digs, good for second all-time at UF.
