Findlay Falls Short to Finish Midwest Crossover

The University of Findlay volleyball fell to Illinois Springfield 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 17-25, 19-25) on the final day of the Midwest Region Crossover on Oct. 13 in Indianapolis, Ind. The loss brings the Oilers' record to 16-5 on the season and 10-2 in the conference.

The Oilers were led by senior Amanda Winner who hit .419 by recording 20 kills, and junior Izzy Murphy who hit .389 by recording 19 kills. Junior Shelby Kin recorded eight kills, while sophomore Madison Moore added six.

Senior Hailee Olson recorded 50 assists against the Prairie Stars.

Senior Kara Scherger led the team defensively with 18 digs, while sophomore Ally Duncan recorded 12 digs and sophomore Olivia Morrison added six.  

The Oilers will be back in action at home on Oct. 19 when they will face Cedarville at 7:00pm.

Seniors Amanda Winner and Hailee Olson both earned spots on the all-Crossover team. It is the first time that Winner has been named to the all-Crossover team while Olson has earned her school record third all-Crossover award.
