Oilers Swept in Home Opener

Box Score vs Clarion

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's volleyball team lost against Clarion in Croy Gymnasium on Thursday, September 12 as they were defeated in three sets, (24-26, 30-32, 22-25). The loss drops the Oilers to 0-5 on the year, while Clarion improved to 3-2 after the victory. 

Set two felt like it was never going to end, as the Eagles and Oilers refused to let the other go up two points to win the set. Findlay had a lot of chances, but could not finish the job, as Clarion was able to rally together and take a commanding 2-0 lead with a 32-30 set win that ultimately buried the Oilers. 

Hitters Rylie Pattison and Shelby Kin both reached double digits in the kills category, as they had 13 and 12, respectively. Kin also added eight digs on the stat sheet. 

Emily Annesser recorded 29 assists in the match to lead the Orange and Black, while also contributing nine digs. 

Alana Sundermann was all over the court in the back end as she led the team with 17 digs. Natalie Regula had six digs of her own in the match. 

The Oilers will have a chance to get their first victory on Friday, September 13 as they will take on Palm Beach Atl. at 3:00pm. The match will take place in Hillsdale, Mich.
