Oilers Open Season with Victory

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's volleyball team were victorious versus the visiting Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers in three sets (25-13, 25-20, 25-21) on Friday, January 22nd. This was the first contest of the season for the Oilers, and their first game in 428 days when they last played on November 19, 2020. The Oilers move to 1-0 on the season, while Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 0-1.

The Oilers saw a well-rounded attack with five different players having five or more kills. Three different players recorded six kills each including sophomore Emma Meyer, freshman Hannah Warrington, and senior Rylie Pattison. Meyer added three blocks and Pattison with two blocks of her own. Junior Emily Annesser recorded five kills along with 11 assists, and senior Madison Moore added five kills.

On the defensive end, the Oilers were led by senior Olivia Morrison who had 10 digs on the evening. Warrington added seven digs in the contest.

The Oilers turn around tomorrow afternoon, January 23rd, to take on the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans at 2:00 p.m. in Findlay.
