Oilers Cruise Past Cavs

The University of Findlay took on Walsh University in a three-set match (25-17, 25-22, 26-24) on Friday Sep. 17 in Niekamp Arena. This brings the Oilers to a 4-1 record on the year and brings the Cavaliers to a 4-4 record.  

Journey Blevins, Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Offensive Player of the Week, led the Oilers with 17 kills and recorded two blocks.  

Assisting Blevins was sophomore Hannah Warrington. Warrington had 11 kills and hit .304.  

Juniors Emma Meyer and Lexi Sauber also contributed 8 kills each.  

Senior Ashton Terrill contributed 14 digs and was assisted by sophomore Alissa Rhodes with 12 digs. Senior Abigail Schroeder had 40 assists in the match and added six digs. 

The Oilers hit .302 for the match on 106 attacks. In the first set Findlay hit an impressive .464.  

The Oilers are back in action Saturday, Sep. 18 against Malone University at 2pm in Niekamp Areana at Croy Gymnasium.
