Oilers Roll Past Pioneers in Croy

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's volleyball team was victorious in a three-set match (25-16,25-13,25-12) against Malone University on Saturday, Sep. 18 in Niekamp Arena. This brings the Oilers to a 5-1 record on the year and 2-0 in conference play.

Malone held a 6-5 lead early in the first set but after two straight points by the Oilers, the Pioneers would not hold a lead for the remainder of the match. The Oilers held leads of nine points in the first set, fourteen points in the second set, and thirteen points in the final set to cruise to their second conference win of the weekend.

The Oilers were once again led by freshman Journey Blevins. Blevins recorded 16 kills and hit .500 on the day.

Assisting Blevins was junior Emma Meyer who contributed 9 kills and also hit .500.

Senior Madison Moore had 7 kills and hit an impressive .636 for the match.

Senior Ashton Terrill led the way defensively with 12 digs. Assisting her was senior Abigail Schroeder who had 8 digs. Sophomore Alissa Rhodes also contributed 6 digs.

The Oilers hit .348 for the match on 92 attacks. The Oilers held Malone to a .000 hitting percentage in the second set. In the final set, the Oilers hit .440 while allowing Malone to hit .042 and just .084 for the match.

The Oilers will be back in action Tuesday, Sep. 21 against Bluffton University at 7pm in Croy Gymnasium.
