Oilers Win Battle with Beavers

The University of Findlay took on Bluffton University in a three-set match (25-17, 25-18, 25-23) on Tuesday Sep. 21 in Niekamp Arena. This brings the Oilers to a 6-1 record on the year. 

The Oilers were led by senior Madison Moore. She had 14 kills on 19 attempts leading her to hit .737. Her performance puts her in the record book for the seventh best hitting percentage in a match. Moore also recorded six digs and five blocks.  

Assisting Moore was freshman Journey Blevins. Blevins played in one set but contributed with six kills and hit .417.   

Juniors Emma Meyer and Laina Sansotta also contributed 5 kills each.  

On the defensive side, senior Ashton Terrill contributed 9 digs and was assisted by senior Olivia Morrison with 8 digs. Also assisting Terrill and Morrison was sophomore Alissa Rhodes who had seven digs.  

Senior Abigail Schroeder had 24 assists in the match and added four digs. 

The Oilers hit .216 for the match on 34 attacks. The Oilers held Bluffton to a kill percentage of .000 for the match.  

The Oilers are back in action Friday, Sep. 24 at Trevecca Nazarene University at 12pm.
