Oilers Take Down Eagles in Five Sets

The University of Findlay won against Ashland University in a five-set match (29-27, 24-26, 19-25, 25-18, 15-11) on Saturday Oct. 23 in Niekamp Arena. This brings the Oilers to an 13-6 record on the year and 9-2 in the conference.  

The Oilers were led by senior Madison Moore. She recorded 14 kills on 27 attempts leading her to hit .444. She also recorded four digs and three blocks.    

Assisting Moore was junior Emma Meyer who contributed 13 kills and hit .565. Meyer also had four blocks.  

Freshman Journey Blevins had 23 kills and hit .293. Junior Natalie Maras had 12 kills and three blocks.   

On the defensive side, senior Ashton Terrill contributed 27 digs and was assisted by senior Abigail Schroeder and freshman Journey Blevins who both had 16 digs.  

The Oilers hit .229 for the match compared to Ashland's .215. The Oilers dominated the fourth and fifth sets by hitting .529 and .429 respectively to capture their second win of the weekend.   

The Oilers are back in action Friday, Oct. 29 at Walsh University at 7pm.
