Oilers Take 5th | Lawrence Earns 1st Team All-G-MAC

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2020 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship on Oct. 24 in Tiffin, Ohio. Both teams finished fifth in their races as the women posted a score of 121 while the men recorded a score of 127.

The women were led by junior Gabrielle Lawrence who earned first team all-conference accolades with a fourth place finish. Lawrence crossed the finish line in 21:54.3, the third-fastest time in school history.

Freshman Baylee Hack also garnered all-conference accolades as she finished 14th with a time of 22:31.5. Her time was the sixth-best in program history and earned her second team all-league honors.

Freshman Maya Hamsher finished 36th at 23:28.4, sophomore Morgan Gaskins took 39th with a time of 23:37.8, freshman Hailey Wilson placed 46th at 23:54.7, and sophomore Meghan Donoher was 47th after crossing the finish line in 23:54.9 to round out the top-50 performances.

Senior Matilda Jeruto (24:01.6) placed 53rd, freshman Justine Hunt (24:53.5) took 67th, freshman Natalie Dayharsh (24:53.7) placed 68th, and junior London Moening (25:02.4), who was 71st, also competed for Findlay at the championship event.

Freshmen Gabriel Foster and Noah Fisher led the men's squad as they both earned second team all-conference accolades. Foster finished 14th with a time of 25:57.6 while Fisher placed 15th after crossing the finish line in 25:58.4.

Freshman Jordan Foster nearly missed out on earning all-conference honors as he took 26th at 26:53.1 while freshman Colin Moats was 42nd with a time of 27:06.0.

Senior Ryan Kohout (27:32.5) finished 54th, junior Wade Hopkins (27:42.8) was 56th, freshman Devon Bill (28:52.1) placed 76th, junior Will Nowak (28:53.0) was 77th, sophomore Dylan Hunter (30:16.1) placed 90th, and freshman Aidan Ruiz (30:17.5) took 91st to round out the other Oilers competing at the meet.
