Oilers Complete G-MAC Championship | Fisher Captures First Title in Program History

The University of Findlay men and women's cross-country teams completed the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship on Oct. 23 in Cedarville, Ohio. The women took fifth with 133 points while the men finished sixth with 139 points. 

Headlining the event for the men's team was sophomore Noah Fisher. Fisher had a time of 24:22.2 leading him to capture the G-MAC Individual Title. He is the first conference individual champion in program history. Fisher outran Walsh's Hunter Moore by 2.1 seconds down the stretch. Fisher's time today is now the second-best time for the 8,000 meters only behind his own record that he set earlier this year.  

Assisting Fisher was sophomore Jordan Foster took 13th with a time of 25:12.2. His performance today ties for the eighth best time in program history.  

Tyler Knestrick was 48th at 26:31.5, Connor Hill placed 52nd at 26:39.6, Dylan Hickey was 72nd with a time of 27:15.1, Colin Moats finished 88th at 28:07.2, Aidan Ruiz took 108th in 28:59.5, and Dylan Hunter was 114th at 29:32.0. 

Senior Gabrielle Lawrence paced the women's squad and took eighth with a time of 22:16.4. Lawrence's time today is the seventh best time in program history.  

Hailey Simmons was 22nd with a time of 22:51.6, Ava Beam finished 36th at 23:20.2, Maya Hamsher was 42nd at 23:36.7, Reilly Cozette took 45th with a time of 23:43.4 and Hailey Wilson finished 48th after crossing the finish line in 23:54.6. Sabrina Sciabica was 60th with a time of 24:22.3, Justine Hunt finished 66th at 24:29.2, Natalie Dayharsh was 72nd at 24:41.5, Meghan Donoher took 77th with a time of 24:47.3 and Matilda Jeruto finished 82nd after crossing the finish line in 24:56.5. Paxton Oberhaus was 95th with a time of 25:41.7 and Bailey Chenevey finished 100th at 26:08.0. 

The Oilers will be back in action at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 6 in Evansville, Indiana.
