Williams Earns 2nd Team All-Region Honors from Daktronics

Senior running back Monterae Williams was named second team all-Super Region 4 by Daktronics on Thursday, Nov. 29.

Williams finished his senior season with 1,348 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.  During his final year with the Oilers, Williams broke school records for career carries (980) and career rushing yards (4,660).  He also ranks second all-time with 50 career touchdowns.

Williams had seven 100-yard games during his senior season and scored a touchdown in all but one game during the 2012 campaign.  He averaged 5.0 yards per carry and also made 15 receptions for 94 yards.

The Canton, Ohio native also led the nation in scoring, accounting for 12.6 points per game and was a first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) player for the second straight year in 2012.
