Booker Picks Up Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Findlay, OH - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) released their football Players of the Week for Week 6 on Monday, Oct. 11. Findlay junior Josh Booker was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week following an impactful performance in a 31-19 victory on Homecoming against Kentucky Wesleyan.

Booker got the party started on Saturday with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, just five minutes of gametime apart. The first was a powerful one-yard rush during which Booker bowled over a KWC player, knocking the defenders helmet off, as he strolled into the endzone. Bookers second touchdown of the quarte rwas a 22-yard carry in which he broke a pair of tackles on his way into the south endzone of Findlay's Donnell Stadium.

The Sarasota, Florida native was not done yet. In the fourth quarter, already with a 14-point lead, Booker then toted the rock for his third score of the game, an eight-yard touchdown that all but cemented the Oilers as victors on Homecoming.

In total, Booker carried the ball 12 times for a total of 63 yards, an average of more than five yards per carry, and led the game with three scores, the only offensive player in the G-MAC this week with three trips into the endzone.

The Oilers enter Week 7 with a big game ahead as they will take on Ohio Dominican who also sits at 2-0 in conference play and looks to be, along with Findlay, a contender yet again for the coveted G-MAC crown.
