Weihrauch Named Defensive Player of the Week

Findlay, Ohio - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its selections for Athlete of the Week on Monday, Oct. 10. Findlay football player Sam Weihrauch has picked up Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance this past week in a 34-14 win against Northwood University on Homecoming.

Weihrauch, a freshman linebacker for the Oilers, led Findlay with 14 tackles on defense, nine of which were solo tackles. He also recorded a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry to help lead the Findlay defense which did not allow any points on Saturday as both Northwood touchdowns were scored by their defense.

This is Weihrauch's first Player of the Week award of his career and the second of the season for Findlay.
