Cole Named Defensive Line Assistant Coach

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay football program has announced the hiring of Codey Cole as the team's defensive line coach. He will begin his role immediately.

"We are very excited to add Codey Cole to our program," said head coach Kory Allen. "We had a very talented pool of candidates for our defensive line job and Codey stood out among the group. His background as both a player and a coach made him a natural fit. I am confident our defensive line will continue to make strides under his guidance."

Cole comes to Findlay from Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, W. Va. where he served as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for one season.

He started his coaching career off at Lawrence High School as the defensive line coach, a local high school near the University of Kansas. After serving several months as the defensive line coach, he journeyed to Northern Illinois University where he was the defensive line assistant. In that season, he helped guide the Huskies to a MAC Conference Championship.

The Ypsilanti, Mich. native had a successful playing career. Cole started at Tiffin University before transferring to Butler Community College where he worked to become a top defensive lineman. He then finished his career at the University of Kansas, under Les Miles, where he became a key member of the defensive line for the Jayhawks. In his senior season, Cole appeared in twelve games- registering 23 tackles including 2.5 tackles-for-loss of ten yards.
