Top-10 Individual Performances | #5 Kijana Caldwell

The Oilers had another incredible year as multiple student-athletes saw success at both the conference and national level. In order to further honor those accomplishments, Findlay's media relations staff has put together a top-10 list of individual performances from the year and will release them throughout the summer months.

#5 | Kijana Caldwell | Football

After proving to be the top safety in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and one of the top safeties in the region, senior Kijana Caldwell has earned his spot among the best in the country as he has been named second team all-American by the Associated Press (AP). Caldwell is the only player from the G-MAC, offense or defense, to be named on either first or second team AP All-American.

In his final season at Findlay, Kijana Caldwell certainly left his mark on the program. The Oswego, Illinois native was named first team all-Super Region 1 by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) after earning first team all-conference. From his position, Caldwell was a blanket defender on the back end of a stingy Oilers defense. He tied for the G-MAC lead with five interceptions this season, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also posted a career-high 56 tackles to go along with one tackle-for-loss, which was a sack, and one fumble recovery. Caldwell finishes his career with nine interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and 137 tackles in 46 games played.

Caldwell is just the seventh player to earn AP All-American status since the Oilers joined the NCAA Division II ranks in 2000.
