Football Picked Third in G-MAC Preseason Poll

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay football team has been selected third in the 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Preseason Coaches Poll which was released by the conference on Wednesday, August 9. Findlay received 64 points including one first-place vote.

The Oilers are coming off of a season in which they finished tied for runner-up in the G-MAC with a 6-2 conference record, part of a year in which the squad finished 7-4 overall. It was the debut season with Kory Allen at the helm and the team rattled off six consecutive victories to wrap up the year, including a season-ending 27-25 victory over rival Tiffin.

Now a ten-team league, the race for the conference crown includes many of the familiar faces of the past as Ashland, last year's champ, comes in at number one in the poll while Tiffin, Findlay, and Ohio Dominican fill out the next three spots, all of which tied for second last season. Hillsdale is the only other team in the league to have hoisted a league trophy and comes into the season picked fifth.

Since the league expansion six seasons ago, the G-MAC has seen five different schools earn a championship.
