Oilers Honored by G-MAC | Krout Coach of the Year
Indianapolis, Ind.- The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams had 29 athletes earn all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) honors as the league office unveiled their annual postseason honors on Mar. 31. The Oilers also won two major awards as Jared Krout was tabbed the G-MAC Men's and Women's Coach of the Year and Chris Campbell earned G-MAC Freshman of the Year honors.
Jared Krout was named the 2022 Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year and the 2022 Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year. In August of 2021, Krout was promoted to the position of head coach. In his inaugural season he led both the men and women's programs to Great Midwest Championship titles. The women captured their first indoor title since joining the conference and the men have now won three of the last five. In this season, Krout has had fifteen athletes named all-region and three all-American.
Chris Campbell was named the 2022 Indoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year and tabbed first team all-conference. Cambell was named the G-MAC Freshman of the Meet after winning the men's long jump with a distance of 7.40m (24' 3.50"). Campbell also earned all-region accolades from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In addition, sophomore Noah Fisher, senior Xavier Marable, senior Lane Kolb, freshman Dylan Reason, sophomore Isaac Webb, sophomore Joe Sadowski, sophomore Hassan Sesay, and senior Martin Etsey picked up first team all-conference honors for the men. Senior Gabrielle Lawrence, junior Simone Green, and junior Morgan England were named first team all-conference for the women.
