Track Participates in Ada and Columbus

Ada, Ohio/Columbus, Ohio The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team competed today, Saturday, Apr. 22 in both the Mike Becraft Invitational in Ada, Ohio, and the second day of the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio.   

At the Mike Becraft Invitational in Ada, Ohio, the women's team finished second place overall with 116 points and the men finished third with 95 points.

Top Results - Men  

Freshman Eyan Wilson took first place in discus throw with a mark of 46.57m and in shot put he placed fourth with a mark of 14.54m.  

In long jump, sophomore Mason Smith took gold with a distance of 6.56m.   

In high jump sophomore Zeke Halker finished in third place with a height of 1.84m.   

Freshman Brady Johns took third place in steeplechase with a time of 10:25.55.   

In the 800m dash, junior Jordan Foster took first place with a time of 1:54.90 and sophomore Simon Derstine took second with 1:55.81.  

Freshman Alex Albers placed second with a time of 4:02.58 in the 1500m.   

In the 110m hurdles Junior Chris Cooper placed second with a time of 15.98.  

Sophomore Brandon Klug took fifth place in the 400m with a time of 52.44.   

In the 400m hurdles freshman Aaron Keyt placed fourth with a time of 59.58.   

In the 4x400m relay Findlay A squad consisting of sophomore Brandon Klug, junior Isaac Webb, junior Hassan Sesay and junior Joe Sadowski placed fourth with a time of 3:28.67.

Freshman Sarah Reinhart took gold in steeplechase with a time of 12:44.09.  

In the 1500m sophomore Bailey Chenevey took first place and sophomore Taylor Ward took third with times of 4:53.08 and 4:57.07 consecutively.   

Freshman Amelia Mizelle placed third with a time of 15.95 in the 100m hurdles.   

In the 400m freshman Peyton Heitmeyer took first place with a time of 1:01.25 and junior Cassidy Baran placed third with a time of 1:03.91.   

Sophomore Hannah Rybicki placed first with a time of 12.75 in the 100m dash.   

In long jump, sophomore Maddie Alexander finished fourth place with a distance of 4.77m.   

Freshman Ava Kiefer placed fifth in shot put with a mark of 11.64m.  

In the 400m hurdles junior Kenedi Hayden took silver with a time of 1:07.92, freshman Emalea Collins placed third with a time of 1:08.66 and sophomore Katie Keller placed fifth with a time of 1:15.27.   

In the 200m dash, sophomore Hannah Rybicki placed first with a time of 26.04.   

In the 4x400m relay Findlay A squad consisting of Baran, Scott, junior Kenedi Hayden, and freshman Peyton Heitmeyer took gold with a time of 4:12.79.

Top Results - Men  

Junior Josh Verhoff secured gold in the 100m dash with a time of 10.22.   

In the 400m senior Xavier Marable placed fourth with a time of 48.61.   

Kemari Robinson, K.J. Upshaw, Ethan Pensante and Josh Verhoff placed fifth with a time of 42.71 in the 4x100m relay. 

Sophomore Omari Welch-Guytan placed fourth in triple jump with a mark of 13.48m.  

Top Results - Women  

Senior Hayley Robinett placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:13.93.   

The 4x100m relay team consisting of Nicole Fishpaw, Taylor Ivory, Kylie Ray, and Jordan Taylor took fifth place with a time of 46.90.   

Sophomore Trista Fintel secured silver in shot put with a mark of 15.49m. 

In the triple jump, junior Simone Green placed fifth with a mark of 11.77m.  

Senior Meadow Cromer took second place in pole vault with a height of 4.08m.  

 

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday, Apr. 27 when they travel to Canton, Ohio to compete in the Walsh Invitational.
