31 Earn Spots on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced the 2023 All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes. Both the men's and women's programs at Findlay earned distinction as All-Academic teams while placing multiple athletes on the individual list, as well.

Findlay's men had a team GPA of 3.31 while the women posted a GPA of 3.67.

On the men's side, honorees include Gabe Clement, Nick DeHaven, Simon Derstine, Conner Douglass, Noah Fisher, Jordan Foster, Gabe Makin, Xavier Marable, Keandre Marlow, Jacob Michael, Alex Mutchler, Dylan Reason, Hassan Sesay, Josh Verhoff, Isaac Webb, and Orry Willems.

Findlay's female honorees included Ava Beam, Brooke Coulter, Reilly Cozette, Meadow Cromer, Paige Emnett, Trista Fintel, Simone Green, Taylor Ivory, Lindsey Kluesener, Gabrielle Lawrence, Madison Myers, Natalie Newton, Kylie Ray, Hayley Robinett, and Bethany Smith.

The criteria for the award included the following:

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution's registrar.
  • Must have completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester of competition at the institution.
  • Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
  • The student-athlete must have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.
