Track and Field Participates in Tennessee and Kentucky

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams had athletes spread across the mid-south on Friday, April 7 as multiple distance runners participated in the Flames Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee while the rest of the team took part in the Gordon Bocock Invite hosted by the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. 

Flames Invitational 

  • Senior Gabrielle Lawrence took 13th in the women's 5000m run, finishing in a time of 17:21.60. 

  • Immediately behind Lawrence was sophomore Reilly Cozette who took 14th with a 17:21.90. 

  • In 25th was sophomore Ava Beam who ran a 17:57.35. 

  • Junior Maya Hamsher took 79th (19:32.28). 

  • Junior Noah Fisher was the top finisher in the men's 5000m run as he moved up two spots on his final lap to take fifth with a time of 14:22.35. That time is good enough to meet the NCAA provisional mark. 

  • Winning his heat and finishing 12th overall was junior Jordan Foster who ran the race in a time of 14:39.55. 

  • In 30th was senior Nick DeHaven who finished in a time of 14:58.29. 

  • Freshman Alex Albers ran in the second heat and finished 78th overall with a 15:35.72. 

Gordon Bocock Invitational 

  • Continuing an impressive sophomore year was Trista Fintel who won the women's discus throw as her third attempt sailed 45.50m (149'3"). 

  • Close behind was senior Brynlee Hanneman who took runner-up with a throw of 40.95m (134'4"). 

  • Senior Max Prenger was the winner in the men's hammer throw as he took top spot with a throw of 48.68m (159'9"), his fifth throw of the evening. 

  • Runner-up in the event was junior Hunter Tresnan-Rieghard who also cashed in on his fifth throw, a toss of 46.17m (151'6"). 

  • Sophomore Colin Warner took fourth (43.98m | 144'3"). 

  • Freshman Leyton Nossa was fifth (43.84m | 143'10"). 

  • Sophomore Eric Hurtt was sixth (43.39m | 142'4"). 

  • Senior Alex Fries was the winner in women's high jump, clearing a height of 1.55m (5'1"). 

  • Runner-up in the event was freshman Ashley Sigmon who cleared 1.50m (4'11"). 

  • In men's long jump, junior Eliot Cummings finished second, reaching a distance of 7.07m (23'2.25"). 

  • Senior Rylee Sybert was runner-up in the women's javelin throw when her fourth attempt traveled 38.68m (126'11"). 

  • Junior Isaac Webb took third in the men's javelin throw, reaching a distance of 46.74m (153'4") on his final throw of the day. 

  • Men's pole vault saw freshman Conner Douglass take third, reaching a height of 4.55m (14'11.25"). 

  • Junior Alex Mutchler tied for fourth with a 4.55m height, as well, doing so on his third attempt after two misses.
